Attar is a form of natural perfume (alcohol free) made with botanical sources and carriers. The word ‘atr(attar)’ was first used in Persian culture as ‘fragrance’. Similar to extrait/pure perfume, attar is made with high quality of natural ingredients. The usage of attar was popular among Ancient Egyptians, back then only the royal family could afford using attar and most of the attar is stored within handcrafted glass bottles.
With high cost of natural ingredients and very high concentration (more concentrated than extrait de parfums), attar is usually measured in grams and available in small quantities (1gram/3grams/6grams/12grams) per bottle.
However nowadays its difficult to find 100% natural perfumes in the perfume market since companies spend most of their budgets on marketing and packaging of perfume rather than the perfume formula itself. Moreover, perfume companies often add natural carriers such as jojoba oil into their attar perfume in order to lower the concentration of perfume and make the perfume easier to wear for scent lovers.
All of Agar Aura’s attar oil contain at least 20% of high quality craftsmanship grade distilled oud oil, more than 99% Oud used for distillation are wild harvested.
