Founder of Agar Aura, Taha Syed is a Canadian who grew up in Saudi Arabia, and it was during the 15 years spent there that he developed a love for perfume. He stayed and worked in Canada for years and noticed that most of the so called Attar oil and Oud oil are diluted and not as complicated as the ones that he used in Saudi Arabia.

That’s when he started to blend his own perfume oil since 2007, during that time he had customised distillation of Oud oil from suppliers but found the quality for most of them below average. Distillation of Oud requires a lot of techniques including temperature control throughout the process (3 days to 1 months non stop), quality of Oud (Most of Agar Aura’s Oud oil are wild, wild oud are older and harder to find), quality control (Smelling oud oil quality throughout the process few times from day to night).

Since 2012, extinction of Oud has become a world-wide problem and yet Taha strives to explore in jungles worldwide to source for the best wild Oud for distillation. To take Oud distillation into another level, Taha decided to moved with his family all the way to Malaysia from Canada and has some serious Oud distillation going on in Malaysia. All of his attar oil contain at least 20% of high quality craftsmanship grade distilled oud oil, more than 99% Oud used for distillation are wild harvested.

All Agar Aura’s creations are 100% botanically derived with no carrier (Dilution), and Taha Syed is re-launching these new strengthen versions of attar oil (was discontinued) at Scented Niche, where you will always find surprises at.
